Is installation of Recovery Magic difficult?  
     
 
No, it is very simple. Installation of RecoveryMagic requires approximately five minutes. However, preparation of the computer prior to installation of RecoveryMagic requires time to check the health of your hard disk to ensure that it is error free.
  
   
     
     
Does installation have any effect on existing data?  
     
 
No. You can install RecoveryMagic without disturbing your existing data.

Should I check my PC for existing viruses before installing RecoveryMagic?  
     
 

Yes. You must ensure that your PC does not have any viruses. This is most important, to avoid saving a system and data that has been infected by a virus. You must run your virus protection software before installing RecoveryMagic. You should first get the lastest virus list update from your virus protection software vendor to ensure that all known viruses are being included in the testing. You need to be certain that your system is free of any virus contamination, and ensure that you do not have any viruses on your hard disk.

 
   
     
     
Is RecoveryMagic easily uninstalled?  
     
 
Yes. In Windows, right-click on the icon on the taskbar to reveal the RecoveryMagic menu, then select Uninstall command to remove RecoveryMagic software from your computer. The uninstall is actioned during a reboot of the PC.

Uninstall can also be actioned without having to have Windows working if the boot mode option is actioned, by pressing the <HOME> key when the "Protected by RecoveryMagic" message display during the boot of the PC to reveal the menu and uninstall command..

WARNING - Do not attempt to uninstall RecoveryMagic manually (This is because the software is resident in the HDD MBR which can not be accessed except by RecoveryMagic.)

Note: If you have installed the demonstration version you must uninstall this using the Uninstall command prior to using the setup software to install the commercial version of RecoveryMagic.

RecoveryMagic detects the presence of an existing version. You are prevented from installing two versions of RecoveryMagic software on the same computer. Also, do not attempt to uninstall and reinstall the demonstration version of RecoveryMagic on the same computer -- this is not permitted.
 
   
     
     
If I boot the PC from diskette or CD, will RecoveryMagic still be OK?
  
     
 
If the information of the protected partition is deleted after booting with a boot diskette or CD after installing RecoveryMagic, the recovery can not be done. This is because RecoveryMagic's backup file is located in parallel with booting sequence. If you boot from A drive using boot diskette, A drive will take control and the RecoveryMagic backup file could be damaged or erased by A drive control.
 
   
     
     
What is the recommended booting sequence?  
     
 
It is recommended that the CMOS booting sequence is changed from A & C to C & A, to prevent any format activity using a boot diskette.
