What happens when Recovery Magic saves a 'saved state' copy of the disk data? |
| |
| |
The 'saved state' is a very compressed copy of the hard disk directory, containing all files and system configurations - like taking a snapshot picture of your C: drive, and saving it in a locked safety deposit box. What happens after a save is requested and a valid password has been entered is that Recovery Magic shuts down the PC. Then, during the boot activity, prior to the operating system being reloaded, Recovery Magic saves a fresh copy of the hard disk details. Recovery Magic checks the health of the disk prior to saving the disk details. |

How many copies of the 'saved state' used for recovery can be saved? |
| |
| |
Only one. The last 'saved state' details actioned is the only copy of the recovery information that is saved. This is simple but very effective recovery facility. |

How easy is the recovery function of Recovery Magic to use? |
| |
| |
Recovery Magic is very easy to use. There are two ways a user can action the disk data recovery:
In Windows mode, users can action a recovery whenever they wish to by simply right clicking on the Recovery Magic icon on the task bar. The Recovery Magic menu will display. Select the Recovery option from the menu. A recovery details confirmation screen will display the date and time of the 'saved state' details. Confirm that you wish to continue, enter your valid password and the disk details recovery will be actioned in just a few seconds. It is as easy as that.
In boot mode, Recovery Magic is actioned before the operating system reloads. This can be actioned even if you can not use your Windows system. Just reboot the computer and press the Home Key while the 'Protected by Recovery Magic' message displays, enter your password, and if this is valid the Recovery Magic menu will display. Select recover and the recovery details confirmation screen will display. This indicates the date and time of the 'saved state'. If you wish to proceed with recovery of the disk just press the YES button. The recovery process is very quick, typically taking only about three seconds.

How do I save a fresh copy of the 'saved state' that Recovery Magic uses when it recovers the computer system and Data? |
| |
| |
Users can save a fresh 'saved state' at any time they wish to. Simply right click on the Recovery Magic icon on the taskbar. Select the Save option from the menu, and the last 'saved state' date and time is displayed for information. Confirm that you wish to replace this information with the current disk details by clicking on the <YES> option. Enter your password and the current disk details will then be saved as a 'saved state', replacing the previously saved disk information. It is as easy as that.
It is, however, very important that the user is sure that the computer does not contain any virus or corrupted data, and the user is confident of the clean state of the system and hard disk before actioning a new 'saved state'. Any problems that exist with the system or disk data will be saved in the 'saved state'. |

| |

Recovery Magic extracts HDD Registry details from the Windows Operating System, and compresses it down to a small size. Recovery Magic does not select specific data files, as it saves the HDD registry (for C: and any other partition selected for protection) regardless of the file function. |

Does Recovery Magic work in a similar manner to Windows XP Restore command?
| |
| |
No. They are very different in both concept and function. Recovery Magic should not be confused with Windows XP's Restore command. Windows Restore command is a repair tool for corrupt and missing files. It can (but not always) restore corrupt system configuration settings by identifying and reconstructing the defective files. However, if a virus attacks your PC and corrupts or destroys files and configurations, the Windows XP Restore command is completely incapable and helpless in restoring your system's environment; the cause of the corruption, the virus, remains on the hard disk drive.
In the event of a virus attack, Recovery Magic returns your files and system configurations exactly back to your 'saved state' state every time -- without any traces of viruses or corruption. |

Can I change hard disks on my system with Recovery Magic installed? |
| |
| |
It is recommended that you do not attempt to add another hard disk to the PC system (or remove an existing disk) while Recovery Magic is installed on it. Uninstall Recovery Magic first, then reinstall Recovery Magic with the new disk configuration. |
